Daytona 500 drivers get a Pixar Cars makeover

Mid-January into February means it’s time for speed weeks in central Florida. The fun is usually centered over at Daytona International Speedway, but if you’re visiting the theme parks, you might bump into one of your favorite Nascar or IMSA drivers. That can be cool for a fan.

With Pixar’s Cars franchise, Disney has a natural tie-in to this year’s Daytona 500 on February 14th. The Mouse House has debuted a new set of Cars related toys and home decor. You’ll find it coming soon to a big box store near you.

One set we’re really excited about is the team up between Mattel and Nascar for some cool collectible die cast cards. For this series, classic Cars characters like Lightning McQueen, Jackson Storm, Mater, Luigi and Guido have been NASCAR-ified, and some of the most notable NASCAR drivers including Chase Elliott, Austin Dillon, William Byron, Ryan Blaney, Joey Logano, Daniel Suarez, Aric Almirola, and Kyle Busch have been transformed into die-cast.
