A Very Mary Poppins Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious Quarantine Song Parody

While it feels like a year ago, it was really just three weeks ago that Daniel Matarazzo delivered to the internet his parody version of the great Sherman Brother’s song “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” from Disney’s Mary Poppins. Matarazzo, a musical director at a regional theater and pianist, added lyrics that help communicate the importance of physical distancing and hand washing in this uncertain era of a global health emergency, in a very humorous way,

Internet podcasting and vlogging superstar Hank Green decided he really loved the video but it might find a larger viewing audience with a Julie Andrews impersonator giving it the cosplay treatment. He was right.

Green hired Julia Aks to take Matarazzo’s lyrics and arrangement and film a music video. Aks is an actor, opera singer, and vlogger known for her mashup videos and humorous sketches. Oh yeah, she’s very fine Julie Andrews impersonator too,

While it’s not 100% on-brand for Disney, it made us smile and thought it might make you smile too.

See, sometimes the internet can be used for good.

If you haven’t seen the original by Matarazzo, here it is:

Daniel has added a couple more Disney parodies for the time up on his YouTube channel.

How are you making sure there’s still Disney Magic in your life even if you can’t make it out to the parks of movie theater?
