Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway opens this week at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The company is so hot on the ride that it’s already started construction on a dupelicate for Disneyland’s toontown. The trackless attraction takes guests into the world of a Mickey Mouse cartoon short and on a unique train ride where Mouse Rules Apply.
Disney’s Imagineers have created a new character for the ride – a cute little bird with an oddly spelled name – Chuuby. Originally a typo during the design phase of the ride, Imagineers decided to just stick with the version that had two U’s instead of two B’s because it was cuter.
Pronounced “Chew-Bee,” the little orange and beige bird lives near the train in the Runamuck Railroad. Choo-Choo became Chuuby, get it.
Guests on Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway’s journey through the cartoon world where they’ll encounter several new characters, but Chuuby is the one that is being featured on merchandise for the attraction. Keep an eye on ShopDisney where some merchandise from the attraction is already available in the Disney Parks section of the catalog.
