Ever since the Disney animation-inspired concept was officially revealed at the D23 Expo in Anaheim earlier this year, we’ve been anxiously waiting for more news on the upcoming new Cirque du Soleil show coming to Disney Springs.
The show will feature Cirque’s usual mix of original acrobatic sequences, dazzling choreography, musical masterpieces, and whimsical characters combined with themes and characters that will transport the audience into the world of Disney animation.
While the new show does not yet have a name, you can peek behind the curtains at some of the rehearsal process at the Cirque du Soleil headquarters in Montreal Canada. We’re also treated to a few shots of Disney animator Eric Goldberg working some of is hand-drawn animation art.
I loved La Nouba when it was playing at Disney Springs. In its later years it did struggle to attract an audience despite some retooling with new acts. Adding some Disney history and stories to the show will definitely help with making Walt Disney World guests feel like it’s part of the magic.
The new show is set to open in Spring 2020.
