The World of Fine Wine (WFW) is a British quarterly magazine that takes a sophisticated approach to the assessment of fine wine with in depth articles, expert research, and opinions from the world’s most respected wine writers. It has been a go-to publication for wine lovers for the last 15 years. This year the WFW examined over 1,000 of the world’s best wine lists and Disney Spring’s own Wine Bar George was among the top honorees.
Nominees for the World’s Best Line Lists awards are based on a range of criteria including breadth, depth, interest, quality, value, clarity and accuracy. This year’s winners include The Restaurant at Meadowood in the Napa Valley and Eleven Madison Park in New York City.
Wine Bar George earned the following awards in 2019:
- Best Micro Wine List in the World
- Best by-the-glass Wine List With Coravin* in North America
The restaurant and wine bar was also honored by WFW for having a three-star wine list, the highest star designation. Winners of this award tend to reap an elevation in status similar to restaurants that receive a Michelin Star. So it’s a very big deal.
Cheers and Salut to everyone at Wine Bar George, but especially George Milotes who brought this world class destination for wine to Disney Springs.
*Note: Coravin is a wine preservation system that allows Wine Bar George to offer wine by the glass and often by the ounce without losing any quality of the wine.
