Horses of Disney’s Tri-Circle-D Ranch to get new barn at Fort Wilderness

Fort Wilderness

Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground is in the middle of some changes thanks to construction of the next DVC Resort “Reflections Lakeside Lodge” that will overlap with part of the resort’s infrastructure. One of those areas is the current home to the Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Pony Farm, which means Disney’s equines will soon get a new home.

Imagineers have shared concept are for the new modern stables and updated outdoor spaces for Disney’s working horses.

I like the look of it. It’s very much in keeping with the look and feel of the original Draft Horse Barn. The new barn is expected to open in the Spring of 2020..

Construction will close the current draft horse barn and pony farm starting on Monday August 19. So you have one more chance to go make some memories and take in the Disney related equestrian historical pieces, some of which date back to the 1950s.

Fort Wilderness will continue to offer pony rides at the Trail Blaze Corral near the campground’s entrance.

Fort Wilderness was one of the first resorts to open at Walt Disney World, so we always urge Disney to work to preserve what’s important about an area when imagining something new for that space. How do you feel about Disney adding a DVC resort so close to Fort Wilderness Campground?
