Hong Kong Disneyland (HKDL) is about to transform their iconic castle into a home for magical storybook princess stories. This week, towers and spires representing 13 stories of beloved Disney Princesses and heroines will be lifted onto the castle base. Mickey and Donald were on hand to mark the start of construction.
While visiting the park, you will be able to see the ongoing castle transformation progress as the thematic towers, turrets and spires — each uniquely crafted with individual architectural designs — will appear on the castle, bolstering its presence at the very heart of the park.
Each of these thematic architectural elements are inspired by the stories of the much-loved Disney Princesses — Tiana, Aurora, Ariel, Mulan, Jasmine, Snow White, Moana, Cinderella, Merida, Pocahontas, Belle, Rapunzel — along with Anna and Elsa from Disney’s “Frozen.’ Each spire will feature the iconic patterns, textures, colors and ornamentation, that will be recognizable by guests as inspired by their favorite Disney heroines.
According to HKDL, when fully transformed, the iconic castle will stand as a shining beacon of courage, hope and possibility, inspiring all who dare to dream big. The new castle will also be home to a daytime show and nighttime spectacular as well as a new outdoor stage area and viewing terrace.
This will certainly be the most unique design of any castle at a Disney theme park. What do you think?
