Where to celebrate the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World

Celebrating the fourth of July, the United States of America’s Independence Day, at Walt Disney World gives you not one, but two nights of spectacular fireworks fun to celebrate the birth of this great nation.

The skies will light up red, white, and blue on both July 3rd and 4th at the Magic Kingdom. “Disney’s Celebrate America! A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” offers booming fireworks orchestrated to patriotic melodies showering the Magic Kingdom sky on both July 3 and July 4 at 9:15 p.m. Enjoy extended park hours too: July 3, 8 a.m.-12 a.m.; July 4, 8 a.m.-1 a.m. The park will host two dance parties with DJs spinning tunes at a Hoedown Throwdown in Frontierland and an out-of-this-world Galactic Gathering in Tomorrowland.

At EPCOT, July 4th will feature a patriotic Fourth of July grand finale. “The Heartbeat of Freedom” fireworks extravaganza will begin immediately following the 9 p.m. “IllumiNations: Reflections of Earth” display. As Illuminations ends its 20-year run on September 30, this will be your last time to see this combo.

Also worth visiting at EPCOT is the a cappella vocal group Voices of Liberty. They will perform great American tunes during a Fourth of July concert on the America Gardens Theatre stage at 5:30, 6:45 and 8 p.m. on July 4. The group also will perform in the rotunda inside The American Adventure pavilion at 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

While you’re at American Adventure, be sure to meet a few of your favorite Disney characters donning their “Spirit of ’76” patriotic attire at The American Adventure throughout the day on July 4.

If you’re not celebrating the Fourth of July at Walt Disney World Resort this year, the Disney Parks Blog will offer a live stream starting at 9:13 p.m. ET for “Disney’s Celebrate America – A Fourth of July Concert in the Sky” fireworks show from Magic Kingdom Park!

Walt Disney once said he bleeds Red, White, and Blue launching many traditions that the parks continue today. We love all the live entertainment, scrumptious treats, and patriotic pageantry Disney World puts on for the fourth of July, but the real highlights are the fireworks shows. We’re expecting hot temperatures and possible severe thunderstorms on both days, so pack rain gear and patience as the parks do get extra busy during these nights.
