“Maleficent: Mistress of Evil,” the sequel to the 2014 global box-office hit “Maleficent,” has has conjured up its first teaser trailer and the affect is magical. Angelina Jolie and Elle Fanning return as the dark fairy Maleficent and Princess Aurora, respectively. The original movie took two characters from the studio’s animated classic “Sleeping Beauty,” and added a new perspective revealing that perhaps Maleficent wasn’t quite as evil as the original movie led us to believe.
Joining Jolie and Fanning in the sequel are Michelle Pfeiffer, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Sam Riley, Harris Dickinson, Ed Skrein, Imelda Staunton, Juno Temple, and Lesley Manville. There’s more to this story waiting to be told as we begin to see in the first teaser trailer:
It looks just as sumptuous as the first one. Big points there. Not sure about the song choice. “Season of the Witch” doesn’t seem very inspired. But maybe it’s a big hint. What do you think?
Are you ready to return to the story of Maleficent and Princess Aurora?
