Remembering where you parked when your car is the middle of a sea of as many as 15,000 other cars can be a bit different but it’s a challenge you frequently face when you drive your car to Walt Disney World. Disney makes it easier by using not just numbered rows, but some of its iconic characters to divide the giant swaths of asphalt into more memorable chunks.
As Disney’s Hollywood Studios prepares for huge crowds it expects for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, it has expanded its parking lot and is remaking the tram and front entrance area to accommodate the crowds.
The new parking lot will have new character names, a new tram lane, and new bus loading loops.
The characters will represent some of the new and the iconic attractions at Disney’s Hollywood Studios and include:
- Mickey
- Minnie
- Jessie
- Buzz
- Olaf
- BB-8
The Bus Loops and new parking sections are expected to open on or about March 19. The new new security bag check and tram loading and unloading zones will open later.
Also arriving later in 2019 is the Disney Skyliner Gondola station near the main entrance. When it opens it will provide travel to Epcot and a handful of resort hotels with a unique perspective on Walt Disney World.
