Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill reopens at Disneyland Hotel after refurbishment

Guests of the Disneyland Hotel who need a quick bite of food can now return to the newly refurbished Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill. The fast-casual dining location has upgraded its look with vibrant colors and a mid-century modern tropical style.

Tangaroa Terrace Tropical Bar & Grill at the Disneyland Hotel features made-to-order dishes, signature tiki cocktails, Dole Whip and more.

A quick glance at the exterior of Tangaroa Terrace clearly shows how it is inspired by Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room. The new look makes it the perfect tropical complement to the mid-century modern architecture of the Disneyland Hotel.

Imagineers have added traditional motifs from many Pacific islands including: Hawaii, Tahiti, Fiji, Sumatra and New Guinea. Look for hidden tiki room birds in a special tropical mural, bamboo accents, and tiki bar stools. With the pool next door you’ll feel transported to and island paradise.

Speaking of paradise, look at some of the food options coming to Tangaroa Terrace. The location will serve breafast, lunch and dinner. Highlights include a breakfast platter or sandwich, Pineapple Upside Down Pancakes, and the favorite of many a guest – Tangaroa Toast (aka Tonga Toast for those more familiar with the Polynesian Resort out in Orlando).

Lunch and dinner options include Kalua-style Poutine, pork and vegetable pot stickers, kalua-style pulled port nachos, sweet and spicy chicken wings, and more. We think Fried Spam Musubi might be the surprise hit.

There’s also a grab-and-go market where you can pick up pastries and snacks, specialty coffees, pineapple dole whip soft serve, and more. If you’re in a rush, you can take advantage of Mobile ordering too.

Mid-Century modern googie architecture and tropical tiki design are related in that they were both reactions to the country’s march into the space age. We love how the look of Tangaroa Terrace fits in with the updated look of the Disneyland Hotel’s pool area and the nextdoor Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar.
