It’s a day long-awaited by Star Wars and Disney fans everywhere. This morning Bob Chapek, chair of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, released the official names of the two main attractions coming to the new Star Wars-themed land at Disneyland and Walt Disney World – Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
On Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run guests will be able to pilot the Millennium Falcon by using over 200 unique control elements where decisions of those in the cockpit of the famous spaceship will have very real impact on whether the mission is a success or failure. Real time advanced decision making computer power will help direct each unique journey based on guest input.
Millennium Falcon: Smuggler’s Run attraction is expected to have a capacity of around 1,800 guests an hour when running a peak efficiency. That’s not bad, but Fastpass+ reservations are definitely recommended for this one.
The other big attraction was revealed to be called Star Wars: Rise of the Resistance. Guests will join in an epic battle between the First Order and the Resistance – with a showdown with Kylo Ren himself part of the ride.
So much of Star Wars is wrapped up in the iconic music composed by John Williams and fans will be happy to learn that he’ll be back and composing the themes for Galaxy’s Edge.
