Guests normally visit EPCOT during the Food and Wine Festival for the amazing tastes and sips they can eat and drink, but there’s a room full of amazing food that’s just for looking art – amazing chocolate sculptures created by Disney’s pastry chefs. These brand new sculptures for 2018 represent some of Disney’s most-popular stories from the last year and historically .
The amazing artworks are kept in special temperature controlled display cases. It’s hard to get a clear view through the glass sometimes, but we did our best for those who can’t make it there to see these great chocolate sculptures in person.
Disney asks its talented pastry chef teams to come up with their best ideas for the displays. This year’s displays include:
Wakanda Forever – Michael Craig, Alicia Cherrill – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
Toy Story Land – Sergia Avila Favela & Team – Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Coco – Noah French, Jason Stricker, Aqueda Vasquez, Cyrstal Saunders, Philip Douglas – Epcot Production Bakery
Polynesian Tiki Totem – Kelly Smith, Maciej Kilimnik – Disney’s Polynesian Resort and Village
An African Leopard Resting in the Savanna – Kristine Farmer – Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort and Spa
We missed the team for the Sleepy Hollow display, deepest apologies.
But check out the cool Hidden Mickey they included.
After viewing this collection of sculptures made of chocolate at EPCOT’s Food & Wine Festival, there’s no doubt in my mind that some of the best pastry chefs in the world work at Walt Disney World.
To find these works of art, head to the Festival Center and then make a beeline for back and the Ghirardelli store. Don’t forget to pick up your free square of chocolate. They’re usually handing them out near the front of the store.
