Get ready to stake out your spot on Main Street U.S.A., Disneyland is getting a new fireworks show this spring. When Pixar Fest launches on April 13, the sky high above Sleeping Beauty Castle will explode with fireworks of “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” designed and delivered by Walt Disney Imagineering as only they can do.
With a soundtrack is meant to evoke your favorite moments and characters from Pixar’s most popular films, the fireworks show is all about the adventures they have, encounters they face, and friendships that last forever.
In the video below, Imagineering’s Head of Music, Matt Walker, walks us through the musical choices for the fireworks spectacular while we get a backstage look at the recording of the soundtrack.
If you look quickly you can see that they record the score while watching the pre-viz for the fireworks show, just as major film scores are recorded.
Since we know people love the music of Pixar, composed almost entirely by either Randy Newman or Michael Giacchino, we have a sneaking suspicion this will be a very popular fireworks show.
Will you be at Disneyland on April 13 to see the official debut of “Together Forever – A Pixar Nighttime Spectacular” and the rest of Pixar Fest throughout the Disneyland Resort?
Lucky them. We’ll be stuck with Happily ever after for years at Magic Kingdom.
