EPCOT is showing its wild side in its second annual Festival of the Arts. From fine arts to performing arts to culinary arts, you’ll find an adventure to suit your palate. We recently enjoyed a special media preview where we were able to sample some of the dishes guests can find in the food studios.
There are 13 food studios this year, five of which are debuting in 2018. You’ll find all 13 located around the World Showcase and inside the Odyssey Festival Showcase.
New Studios this year are located in the following areas: France (“L’Art de la Cuisine Française” or “The Art of French Cooking”), Morocco (“Mosaic Canteen”), Japan (“Takumi Table”), Italy (“L’Arte di Mangiare” or “The Art of Eating”) and China (“The Painted Panda”).
You’ll want to have your taste buds and Instagram account warmed up for these dishes:
From the Artist’s Table in The American Adventure
Roasted pork roulade with butternut squash puree, marble potatoes, and baby carrots, with a red wine sauce featuring Melissa’s produce.
This was one of favorite dishes for its combination of flavors with a healthy dose of veggies.
From The Painter’s Palate at the Odyssey Festival Showplace
Gallery Bites: A Trio of Hors d’Oeuvres – Chilled shrimp with cucumber cream cheese on a crostini, traditional deviled egg with candied bacon, and Crispy truffled risotto ball with truffle aioli
Trio of Savory Croissant Doughnuts
Whipped Boursin Garlic & Fine Herbs Cheese with fresh herbs, chicken salad with shaved fennel and fresh herbs, and spicy tuna with wasabi and seaweed salad
You can’t go wrong with either of these choices. Deviled egg with bacon was sublime as was the risotto ball. We also think this year’s donut selection is better than last years, but still perhaps a bit too adventurous for some.
The Masterpiece Kitchen in Canada
Smoked salmon tartare, caviar, crisp focaccia and traditional accompaniments
The presentation is unique, but the taste is exactly what we were looking for, and caviar…. yum.
Pop Eats! at Showcase Plaza
Sous vide poulet rouge chicken roulade with apples and sage served with warm brie fondue, blueberry and beet gel and garnished with apple and beet chips
This one presented a combination of flavors were weren’t sure about initially, but upon subsequent bites it really grew on us.
Pop’t Art: Modern designed sugar cookie with strawberry filling
Hello? Want to feel like a kid again? Epcot totally understands.
The deconstructed dish – Showcase Plaza
Deconstructed breakfast: Twinings spiced apple chai tea shake, garnished with Maple Syrup, a waffle crisp, and candied bacon (non-alcoholic)
Decadent Delight – Showcase plaza
S’mores tart: house-smoked buttermilk chocolate cake with chocolate mousse, toasted marshmallow meringue, graham cracker dust and malted milk chocolate sauce
Do any of these dishes tempt your palate with their culinary creativity?
The Epcot International Festival of the Arts runs 7 days week now through February 19. (Some entertainment only runs Thurs-Monday)
