The Polite Pig at Disney Springs revises menu

One of my favorite additions in the new Disney Springs expanded restaurant list is The Polite Pig. It’s an upgraded take on the Quick Service location with optional table service that makes the dining experience more pleasant. The concept is from local culinary legends James and Julie Petrakis and James’ brother Brian.

Those who know the Petrakis’ other restaurants, The Ravenous Pig or Cask & Larder, know that they keep their menus fresh to make sure diners have the best experience. The Polite Pig just released their new menu

Gone from the appetizer list are the Peel-and-Eat-Shrimp and BBQ Cracklins, in is a slider trio (southern pig, bbq sausage hoagie, smoked & fried chicken). Salads have been reduced to two, a Polite Caesar and BBQ Cobb.

From the entrees the Salmon is gone and BBQ Cheddar Sausage (with a bourbon glaze) is new. To my delight Baby Back Ribs replace the St Louis Ribs and they’ve added a Butcher Board, which combines a trio of meats with sides to be enjoyed by two. The salmon sandwich is replaced by BBQ Sausage sandwich, but otherwise the choices are similar.

On the kid’s menu Grilled Cheese is out and Mini Ribs are in.

Sides, in our not so humble opinion, are the best thing going at the Polite Pig. The list is essentially the same, but Charred Broccoli has been replaced with Roasted Beets and they added BBQ Waffle Fries. Smoked Corn is replaced with Grilled Corn but still served with lime butter and breadcrumbs.

For Dessert they’ve added Strawberry Cheesecake and Carrot Cake. How they knew those were my two favorite desserts, I don’t know, but it’s made me very happy.

You can still get your Florida Craft Beer and small batch cocktails on tap, plus don’t forget to visit the Bourbon Bar where you can order any drink you like, as long as it’s Bourbon.

It all sounds delicious? Who wants to join me for a meal?

  1. I had lunch there yesterday and had the sausage hoagie and the beet salad. Both were excellent! They have a chess pie that I didn’t try but the server told me is great, maybe next time.

  2. The Wife & I really loved our trip to The Polite Pig. What a great Disney Springs addition!
The locally made Cask & Larder IPA (full pitcher) didn’t hurt our mood either.
