Up until Marvel’s The Defenders, Marvel’s Netflix shows haven’t included any post-credit scenes that have become iconic for their big screen counterparts. But they surprised fans by attaching a teaser trailer for The Punisher at the end of The Defenders. What surprised fans even more was that the trailer revealed a 2017 release date for the show. But that’s all we got. Sometime in 2017. No month. No day.
Update: Marvel has released three motion posters for the series too

That was back in August. It’s now October and, despite Netflix and Marvel releasing a number of follow up trailers, we still have no idea when the show will drop in the next few months.
Marvel has a had a lukewarm reception to its two latest shows, Iron Fist and The Defenders, so they could really use another solid hit to keep the excitement and momentum going for these shows.
Frank Castle was the surprise fan-favorite from Daredevil Season Two and fans have been eagerly awaiting his spin off show since it was announced. That plus these trailers teasing his return in the next few months seem to be doing a great job of building the anticipation for fans.
We’ll have to wait to see if Marvel can deliver, hopefully we won’t have to wait too long.
After exacting revenge on those responsible for the death of his wife and children, Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) uncovers a conspiracy that runs far deeper than New York’s criminal underworld. Now known throughout the city as The Punisher, he must discover the truth about injustices that affect more than his family alone.
Are you looking forward to seeing the Punisher again?
