Although the Disney Springs expansion was officially dedicated more than a year ago, there are still a few locations that have yet to open with new tenants. Most anticipated by me is Wine Bar George, which will open adjacent to Raglan Road and across from the Hangar Bar in The Landing district of Disney Springs.
Disney has released some new concept art giving us our first look at the interior of Wine Bar George.
Wine Bar George is the creation of Master Sommelier George Miliotes. Originally scheduled to open in late 2017 it looks like early 2018 might be a more realistic target at this point.
“I’m excited to return to Walt Disney World Resort, and Disney Springs is the place to open a wine bar and share my passion with the world,” Miliotes said. “Having the opportunity to train and hire my own team while sharing my 40-plus years of knowledge is truly incredible, and I look forward to opening our doors in the coming year.”
We’re excited too George. Hurry up and open.
Us wine fans are thrilled to have this coming in the near future! A true wine bar experience featuring great wines is long overdue and a perfect fit for Disney Springs. Up to this point, great wines required visiting signature restaurants (which are great), but this will be much appreciated to be able to focus on wine rather than being in a dining venue.
