I’ve had the pleasure of taking a cooking class from James Beard Award-winning chef Tony Mantuano and found him to be genuinely interested in preparing the best food possible in a well designed environment for his guests. For years his Portobello restaurant has provided exactly that in Disney Springs, but times change and so too has the mix of restaurants at Disney Springs and it was time for the Levy Resturants property to step up its game. Portobello closed for the last time on April 24.
We just received new concept art for the Italian restaurant that will replace Portobello when it opens in early Fall of 2017.
“We’ve been grateful to serve our loyal guests at Portobello for the last seven years,” said Andy Lansing, President and CEO of Levy Restaurants. “We look forward to welcoming our guests back to the location early this fall when we unveil a new concept at Disney Springs.”
Chef Tony and Levy are planning a large-scale renovation that involves interior improvements and a new entrance to the restaurant. The new restaurant’s menu will feature dishes inspired by Chef Tony’s adventures across the many regions of Italy.
We’re sad to see Portobello go, but will be happy to have a new restaurant that fits into the story of Disney Springs better along with an exciting new menu from Chef Tony.
