Lucasfilm’s “Rogue One: A Star Wars Story” spent another weekend acheiving inter-galactic box office dominance. It came in first over the three-day weekend with $49.3 million beating Sing which earned $42.8M and Passengers which checked-in with $16.1M. That’s Rogue One’s third weekend atop the charts.
With this weekend’s totals, the domestic accumulation for Rogue One is now $439 million and when you throw in the international numbers, the film is closing in on $800M world wide with $789. A grand total of $1.22 billion is certainly within reach, which would put Rogue One in the top 10 all time.
The only wide-release movie next weekend is “A Monster Calls,” which means Rogue One has a good chance of emerging from weekend #4 atop the box office as well.
Rogue One isn’t the only Disney film at the box office right. Both “Moana” and “Doctor Strange” are still selling tickers here and there. Strange is at $230M domestic and $647M Worldwide. Moana sails on with $210M domestic and $402M worldwide.
