This summer Disney’s Animal Kingdom has added extended night time hours including the new river show “The Jungle Book: Alive with Magic!” Inspired by the surprise box office smash live action remake of Disney’s Jungle Book, the show took over the space that was intended for “Rivers of Light” while that show delayed for some additional pixie dust.
But that doesn’t mean “Alive with Magic” is playing second fiddle, in fact, a some of the cast and talented musicians just had the tremendous honor of recreating elements of the show at The White House as the annual kid focused ‘state dinner’ for the Healthy Lunchtime Challenge.
That was cute, you could see how this might work a stage show in a more intimate setting. Look they even brought in Baloo and King Louie to dance around; characters are one of the elements people think is missing from the Disney’s Animal Kingdom show. Maybe a stage show is a good future for the show after “Rivers of Light” is finally ready to take over the stadium Disney built for it. I definitely hope they find a way to keep something from The Jungle Book in the park.
The luncheon was hosted by First Lady Michelle Obama and honored 56 youngsters – one from each U.S. state, territory and the District of Columbia – for creating healthy, tasty recipes.
