Happy with the success of Star Wars Launch Bay, Disney has decided to bring even more Star Wars themed entertainment into the parks. One of the first to arrive will be a new stage show “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far, Away” that will debut next month.
We now know the showtimes for its first listed day of operation – 11:30, 1:30, 2:30, 4:30 and 5:30. That’s five shows a day, which should give everyone who wants to see the show a chance. According to the Disney Parks blog it’s supposed to debut on April 4th, however things may be subject to change.
The show will include iconic moments from the Star Wars film saga right on the center stage in front of the Chinese Theater. Characters will include Kylo Ren, Chewbacca, Darth Vader and Darth Maul.
There is a stage in front of Chinese Theater right now, but it’s not really set up for a big production (there’s no ‘backtage’ for one and lighting will need to be improved). But work has begun to get the area ready. I wouldn’t expect to see Disney characters in the show like they had at Star Wars Weekends, but I hope they bring back some of the fun of the Hyperspace Hoopla!
Do you still miss Star Wars Weekends? If they’d just bring in some celebrities from the TV series and movies, I think we’d be almost the same level
I hope they don’t block the view of the Chinese Theater. Then again, there are rumors that the Great Movie Ride will be closed to make room for the laser gun battle with the First Order.
