Baymax is Back! Disney’s Big Hero 6 is coming to Disney XD

BIG HERO 6

While the animated juggernaut that was Disney’s “Frozen” took over seemingly every thing in the parks and TV, Disney’s “Big Hero 6,” a real charmer of a film, with a great message, creative story, and terrific characters, was buried under the the avalanche of the Disney “Frozen” machine. The good news is that Baymax and Hiro are back and will be getting their own animated TV series on Disney XD in 2017!

According to Disney, the series picks up immediately following the events of the film. Hiro is the newest prodigy at San Fransokyo Institute of Technology and he faces daunting academic challenges plus all the social trials of being the youngest student on campus. Off campus, the stakes are raised for the team of super heroes known as Big Hero 6 as they must protect their city from an array of scientifically enhanced villains.

This sounds like exactly what I want to see in a TV series focused on Big Hero 6. Returning will be a host of new villains, plus Hiro, Wasabi, Honey Lemon, Fred, Go Go, and Baymax!

Let’s hope this show will see Big Hero 6 getting the attention is justly deserves in the parks as well. We’ll keep our ears to the ground about a rumored feature film sequel too.

Are you excited to see Baymax and the gang in their own TV show?

  1. I hope the quality is high and they are able to get the same voices from the movie, otherwise I would have hoped for a sequel instead.

  2. I am hoping with this show, they will decide to bring Hiro back into the parks, along with the other characters. And NOT their creepy Paris versions.
I want the original park Hiro version back (or in his armor). I mean he’s the main character and the show even acknowledges it. Hopefully Frozen doesn’t overshadow this show too.
