Neil Patrick Harris has made a bit of a name for himself as award ceremony host. Besides his everyman affability, his trademark has been a big show stopping musical opening number. Now that Harris is stepping onto the world’s biggest hosting stage of the Academy Awards, he needs an opening number to match.

Well, good news, tunesmiths Kristen Anderson-Lopez and Robert Lopez, Academy Award winners and composers of Disney’s “Frozen”, have been tapped to write an original opening number for NPH.

According to a release from the award show’s producers, the sequence will be called “Moving Pictures” and will involve some multimedia fun. NHP announced the big news himself on a Twitter Video:

In a statement the songwriting pair said, “We love the Oscars and have always been huge Neil Patrick Harris fans, so when he asked us to write him a song for this year’s show we said, ‘Yes!’ before he could finish the sentence — it’s possible he may have been asking us for something else. We are having so much fun collaborating and have even enjoyed weaving our experience as Oscar nominees into the song.”

Now we’ll have to tune in on Feb 22nd to see if Neil Patrick Harris knows how to “Let it Go”
