Spring will soon bloom at Walt Disney World Resort and bring with it one of my favorite events of the year. The 75-day Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival, which begins March 4, is a fresh take on lush gardens, inspired flavors and lively entertainment.
In addition to the renamed “Garden Rock” concert series with music spanning 4 decades, new Disney character topiaries will salute the blockbuster animated film, “Frozen,” and 11 Outdoor Kitchens with “grow your own” gardens will tempt taste buds with sweet and savory bites.
Special weekend festivities have been added to the slate:
- March 13-17 Spring into Spring Weekend with a nod to St. Patrick’s Day
- March 27-29 Art in the Garden Weekend with outdoor art displays
- April 17-22 Earth Day Weekend with nature activities for kids and families, Disney’s Animal Kingdom specialists April 17-19, and a sand-sculpture creation to showcase Disneynature’s soon-to-be released “Monkey Kingdom” film;
- April 24-26 Florida Fresh Weekend featuring a bounty of edibles and other plants that thrive in Florida.
We also have updates on the festival’s 11 outdoor kitchens. The new Bonitas Botánico Outdoor Kitchen between France and Morocco pavilions will showcase treats like Cachapas with Farmer’s Cheese, a sweet yellow corn pancake, and Seafood Ceviche with shrimp, scallops and grouper with mango and avocado. Guests can sip the new La Tizana, a non-alcoholic punch finished with fresh fruit that can become an adult beverage with a splash of Santa Teresa RHUM Orange Liqueur.
For the third festival year running, guests can taste garden- and spring-inspired tapas-sized food and beverages, see how the ingredients are grown and have their complimentary Garden Passports stamped as they stroll the World Showcase promenade.

Has any of the official Disney press releases made reference to HGTV being a sponsor this year? By this time last year we had a list of the celebrities that would be appearing. The official WDW site for the the Epcot Flower and Garden does not make any reference to HGTV.
I haven’t seen anything, so it looks like that partnership may be over
I was wondering about the HGTV stars too – was waiting to plan my trip in hopes of Matt Muenster being there again!
