It is telling that one of the ways Imagineers fixed Disney California Adventure was by adding more of ‘Disney’ and Walt Disney’s personal history into the park. Part of that history became Buena Vista Street, which was supposed to represent Hollywood much as Walt himself would have encountered it in the 1920s.
Something I’ve always appreciated about DCA’s new entrance was how it included Oswald The Lucky Rabbit as part of its story. From Oswald Ice Cream to Oswald rabbit ear hats for sale in a store named Oswald’s. Now, the park is getting ready to do one better. It will introduce a walk-around Oswald for meet and greet photos in the park.
Since April of this year, Oswald has already been greeting guests of Tokyo Disneysea with his own little area. It doesn’t sound like DCA is getting a themed area like that, rather, in California, Oswald will be out walking around Buena Vista Street. Keep an eye open starting September 14th.
