Did you notice the same thing I did about this list? It’s missing a Marvel One-Shot. In fact, Entertainment Weekly announced that Winter Soldier will not have a One-Shot attached to it and Marvel confirmed it on Twitter.
It’s an interesting decision to not add a short film to the video release, especially because they have only grown in popularity. Two of them have spawned TV shows (“Item 47” was the idea behind Agents of SHIELD and the “Agent Carter” will continue as a show) and the latest one, “All Hail The King,” features an Oscar winning actor as the main character.
That said, it could be that the success of the short films has actually led to its temporary hiatus. With two TV shows in production and movies mapped out for the next decade and a half, Marvel has it’s hands full and, thus far, they haven’t been ones to create something that wasn’t going to get its full attention.
Is this the end of the Marvel One-Shots? Probably not, but it may be a while before we see another one.
The last bit of news is really only a step above being a rumor as neither Disney nor Marvel has confirmed this. Latino-Review is reporting that Josh Brolin has been cast as Thanos in Guardians of the Galaxy and will continue his role into Phase 3 of the MCU movies.
