Disney has released two teaser clips from its upcoming new animated series, Star Wars: Rebels, that give us a first look at some of the characters and settings from the show.
Star Wars: Rebels takes place in the time between Star Wars: Episode III and IV as the Empire tightens its grip on the galaxy and a rebellion begins to form. Viewers will see all this happen through the eyes of teenage Ezra, Jedi survivor Kanan, and their friends, the crew of the starship Ghost.
The first two clips are titled “Spark” and “Ignite”:
Several fan conventions have also been graced with a behind-the-scenes video which unveils the show’s new villain, The Inquisitor, a mysterious figure who is tasked by Darth Vader to hunt down the remaining Jedi Knights.
Star Wars: Rebels, executive produced by Dave Filoni, Simon Kinberg, and Greg Weisman, is scheduled to premiere in Fall 2014 as a one-hour special telecast on Disney Channel and will be followed by a series on Disney XD.
