Instapic: Cat Cora’s Kouzzina for Breakfast

from Instagram:

Walt Disney World might be known as a people trap run by a mouse, but it also has a famous cat in residence. Cat Cora, celebrity chef, took over the culinary direction of Kouzzina a few years ago. I’ve heard good things about the location, especially their breakfast offerings, but never got around to eating there. But thanks to a business meeting the other day, I finally got my chance.

You can get a good breakfast at many places across property, but Kouzzina elevates the morning meal to a real experience. Starting with their coffee, which is a special grind you can’t get anywhere else on property, you have to choose between the regular press and french press (which is how I make coffee at home now). Either is a good option. The menu choices range from Greek inspired (as you would expect from Chef Cora) to traditional fare. And don’t pass on the pastries. Sure, you don’t need extra carbs, but these are worth it.

I enjoyed the Spinach, Tomato and Feta egg scramble. I choose the chicken sausage along with breakfast potatoes. Both were excellent, but the eggs were the real star of the dish, cooked perfectly with just the right amount of Feta so that the real flavors shined through. Portions were generous and the oat croissant was a gem on top of a great meal.

Verdict: best breakfast food in the world but resort prices can be a shock.
