Captain America: The Winter Soldier is due in theaters on April 4, 2014, and Marvel has released some new posters to promote the film.
The main poster features Chris Evans as Captain America flanked by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury and Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow. In the background are Sebastian Stan as Bucky “The Winter Soldier” Barnes and Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce.
Sadly, no love for Anthony Mackie’s The Falcon on this poster.
There are also three new character posters in the same vein as the main poster, courtesy of Marvel. Check them out below the jump:
Captain America looks very brooding and serious in his solo poster, which features him wearing headgear and his shield strapped to his back.
Nick Fury is looking menacing as he stands in his office at S.H.I.E.L.D.’s floating headquarters.
Black Widow also gets her own poster, but she looks more femme fatale than serious S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. I would’ve liked less photoshopping on her body, but at least it’s not the traditional back shot/looking over shoulder pose most Marvel women seem to get stuck with (see recent Thor 2 or Iron Man 3 posters for what I’m talking about).
And just for good measure, Marvel UK also released a Captain America solo poster, but theirs features Steve Rogers headgear-free. They get to see the movie starting March 26.
What do you think of the artwork on these Captain America: The Winter Soldier posters?
Lucky Brits!
