Yes, it’s that time again. Time to take a slow tour around the Magic Kingdom and see what’s new. It’s been a couple weeks since I last did an update, but then it’s summer, so in theory things don’t change that much. Turns out that’s not exactly true. We have a lot to cover today. First, if you haven’t seen the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train update, start here, then come back and continue on our tour.

Fastpass has come to Pirates of the Caribbean. Totally unneeded. Never had more than a 45 minute wait on even the busiest days. Now we get artificially inflated standby waits, ugh.

The Enchanted Tiki Room is scheduled for a refurbishment, although I hear it’s been postponed. The water fountain was off anyway
Much more below the jump:

They finished work in this part of Adventureland, but haven’t yet brought back the tables and chairs where people could rest and enjoy their Dole Whips.

Work continues on the Veranda Courtyard. Not sure what they’re doing that’s taking so long… mostly that area just needs seating for Dole Whips

A number of small repairs are ongoing around the park. Here’s a bit of wall being replaced in Fantasyland

Sidewalk work in front of the Emporium. Main Street USA itself will be getting some new pavement starting soon

This section of Liberty Square is turning into a bit of a food court. Here they’re adding a permanent building where before there were food carts.

Gates are finally going in at the back of New Fantasyland. These will eventually be beautiful ‘wood’ and stone.

Unfortunately, the monorail was down so I wasn’t able to get better shots of the DVC Tower at the Grand Floridian. It is looking nearly complete from the outside, but I understand there is still significant work to be done before it’s ready for guests.
Thank you for joining us on this photo update from the Magic Kingdom of Walt Disney World. See you in the parks!
Do you have any more details regarding this statement?
“Main Street USA itself will be getting some new pavement starting soon”
FastPass+ is very much needed for Pirates. The problem is that you are thinking with the traditional “This is to shorten the wait lines” concept of FastPass. Remember the big draw for FastPass+ is the “Reserve before you get there.” Saying the Pirates isn’t on the list would be like saying you couldn’t reserver a spot for Cinderella’s Royal Table.
Isn’t that a FASTPASS+ sign on it’s a small world?
