Chances are you are reading this post from your mobile device while camped out in front of the store of your choice waiting for the Blu-ray Combo Pack release of Disney’s animated hit (and Academy Award nominee) Wreck-It Ralph. Good. You should be (although the weather might be nicer in front of Amazon).
Wreck-It Ralph was previously released on the HD Digital and HD Digital 3D formats in February, but the 4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray 3D + Blu-ray + DVD + Digital Copy, suggested retail: $49.99) and 2-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack (Blu-ray + DVD, suggested retail: $39.99) versions come out on March 5, which gives you plenty of time to get your sleeping bag and backpack full of corn chips for the long night ahead. Mmm, corn chips.
Here are the bonus features included in the packs mentioned above:
- Bit by Bit: Creating the World of Wreck-It Ralph in which we are shown five new worlds created for the film by the artists who brought it to life.
- Alternate and Deleted Scenes
- Video Game Commercials for the games featured in the film.
- And possibly the sweetest bonus feature yet, Paperman.
The Blu-ray also features Disney Intermission: The Gamer’s Guide to Wreck-It Ralph which is a series of 10 video segments that pop on the screen when the movie is paused. Hosted by Chris Hardwick (Nerdist) each segment shares an inside look at the many video game and Disney references, as well as other hidden surprises from the film. We have found ourselves pushing pause even when we have no place else to go.
Needless to say, there is lots of fun for the entire family, which is nice. Enjoy!
I also gave Wreck-It Ralph two giant thumbs up over at the DadCentric website (I blog hop).
I received a 4-Disc Blu-ray Combo Pack for the purpose of this review, all opinions are my own.
