My 2002 pumpkin
Back in the 90s I remember Disneyland used to host a giant pumpkin carver on main street as part of its Halloween events. It looks like they’ve brought the tradition back, albeit on a smaller scale. Still what a talented sculptor can do with a few tools and a fresh pumpkin is impressive. Check out this video:
I learned to do pumpkin sculpting from former Disney imagineer Terri Hardin. I definitely recommend taking one of her live classes if you can find one. If you can’t, you can always buy her DVD.
