In part one of this week’s Magic Kingdom Photo Update, we explored the changes installed in Fantasyland since our last visit. Today we spend a bit more time in Fantasyland before venturing out to Storybook Circus and beyond. Let’s get right to it:
Above and below we peek over the walls to see some of the fantastic detail work done on the roofs and facades in Gaston’s Village. I can’t wait to get over there and explore it myself
Work continues on adding groundscape and landscaping in and around the cliffs that surround Prince Eric’s Castle.
The marquee for Big Top Souvenirs, the large store anchoring Storybook Circus is being added. This is going to spectacular at night.
No sign yet on the red tent.
Work continues on the yellow tent which as more of an open air feel.
It’s been a few months since Dumbo re-opened. Other than a bit of landscaping there doesn’t appear to be much effort made to hide the big show building for the play area. Are ugly buildings just part of the speedway themeing? Why not make it into grand stands and work it into the story line?
Leaving the Magic Kingdom on the monorail, we pass the Grand Floridian and see that the Alice themed water playground is looking near completion. However, the walls in the area have actually expanded. So more work is being done in that area.
Speaking of work, a lot of work is going on at the Grand Floridian DVC tower every week. Still two more stories to add
Finally, we hop aboard another monorail for glimpse at the construction going on outside Test Track. They are putting in some new forms around the queue area and getting ready to install the new attraction sign.
That’s it for the Magic Kingdom Photo Update this week. Please let us know what you’re most looking forward to in the comments.
We are planning our trip to WDW for one week to arrive the day after Thanksgiving. I am so hoping Test Track will be open, but the last report I saw was Dec. 1st. I will be so disappointed if we miss the opening by a few days. I am hoping there will be a soft opening while we are there.
