From the creatively warped mind of Tim Burton (“Alice in Wonderland,” The Nightmare Before Christmas”) comes the feature-length “Frankenweenie,” a heartwarming tale about a boy and his dog. After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life–with just a few minor adjustments. He tries to hide his home-sewn creation, but when Sparky gets out, Victor’s fellow students, teachers and the entire town all learn that getting a new “leash on life” can be monstrous.
Burton expands on his original short film version of “Frankenweenie” and introduces a whole new world and new set of characters to get to know. The second trailer for “Frankenweenie” begins to introduce us to a few of them and shows that there is more going on here than just an updated Frankenstein story.
I like how we get to see more of this world and a few of the other characters. What do you think? Will this rank up there with the best of Burton’s stop motion films? Frankenweenie opens on October 4th 2012.
