Today at CinemaCon, Disney Studios’ President of Production Sean Bailey was joined by John Lasseter from Pixar in revealing the slate of upcoming Disney films. Pixar announced that an animated film based around the Mexican holiday Dia de los Muertos is targeted for 2015. Toy Story 3 director Lee Unkrich will direct. Pixar also revealed “The Good Dinosaur” to be the title of its previously announced May 30, 2014 dinosaur film.
Although no details were released Disney made The Muppets sequel official. Scenes from “Oz: The Great and Powerful” (a prequel to the well-known story) were screened to some acclaim. Frankenweenie, a Tim Burton film, opens Oct 5th and was also very warmly received.
Sounds like departed studio exec Rich Ross did manage to launch a slate of decent films. Now, we wait. Which are you most looking forward to?

I know “The Good Dinosaur” will be a big hit in our house. Excited to see how that evolves ;-)
Ooh, a film about Dia de los Muertos will be interesting…
I LOVED the Muppets movie. It was one of our first Blue ray purchases along with UP
I seriously love the idea of a Dia de los Muertos movie. I hope it gets made and I hope it’s good!
