Disney/Pixar ends boycott of Annie Awards

The Annie Awards are to animation as the Emmys are to TV. But the last few years of awards have come off as slightly biased with the Annies not aligning with other industry awards due to irregularities in voting procedure (Dreamworks was allowed to essentially buy votes by paying for its employees to be members). As protest Disney/Pixar pulled their films from the Annies last year.

This year ASIFA-Hollywood, the group that organizes the Annies, has made significant changes to its rules for nominating and voting. Apparently, that’s good enough to attract Disney back to the table. Sources tell TheWrap.com that Disney/Pixar will announce their return soon.

Hopefully this will return the Annie Awards to the high class status they once held and all will be right in the world
