Several sports celebrities are at Walt Disney World this week to compete against PGA Tour pros in the Children’s Miracle Network Classic golf tournament. But a couple of the sports celebs took time out for some competition of a different kind, playing some fun golf games with some special patients at nearby Arnold Palmer Hospital for Children, one of the 170 hospitals that are part of the Children’s Miracle Network of hospitals nationwide.
Chicago White Sox star A.J. Pierzynski and San Francisco Giants player Aaron Rowand, fresh off winning the World Series crown, spent one morning this week with the kids in a Disney-themed area of the hospital. If you ask me, Disney doesn’t get enough recognition in the community for the work they do to improve the lives of children.
