Congratulations to Ruthie Thompson on her 100th Birthday today. Ruthie was recently profiled in the Vanity Fair piece on the Ink and Paint Girls. Ruthie grew up on the street where Walt Disney lived in Hollywood. She was asked to be an extra in a couple of his early films. Her pay? $0.25.
After her time in Ink and Paint, Ruthie moved on to Final Checker and then the camera department where she calculated the movements for the Multi-Plane Camera. She was inducted as a Disney Legend in 2000.
