The Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood is the non-profit group behind the Baby Einstein DVD recall. Even Disney admits that there were false claims made about the educational aspects of the Einstein DVDs, so I’m a bit surprised to hear that Disney may be behind the eviction of the CCFC from their donated Harvard offices.
A story in the NY Times all but pins the move on Disney as retaliation for the recall. But since the offices and Disney aren’t talking publicly about the reason, we just don’t know for sure. Also the timing of this story is weird, coming just days after the recall officially ended.
Hopefully, this is just someone who has gone rogue on Disney’s behalf and a call from the right person in Burbank can clear this up and keep Campaign for a Commercial Free Childhood in a stable situation where they can continue their good work protecting children.
