There’s never a good time to be laid off from one’s job. But in a down economy when jobs are melting away across the spectrum, it’s particularly bad. So it goes without saying that our thoughts here at The Disney Blog are with the people and their families who have been let go from the Walt Disney Company.
Unfortunately, there numbers have been swelling in the last few days. ABC decided to let 5% of their staff go, Disney Interactive is consolidating studios and letting people go, I’ve also heard rumors that some of Disney’s animation studios will be downsizing again. This is on top of the Disney parks related announcements last week.
Let’s hope that’s the last of it and things start to turn around soon.
