A $1.1 billion deal to convert more movie theaters to modern digtal 3-D projecters has been announced by a panel of mega movie studios including the Walt Disney Studios. Many in Hollywood see 3D technology as key to the film industry’s survival. It boasts higher ticket costs and the solid benefit of being impossible to pirate from within the theater.
When the deal is completed there should be 2500 theaters equiped to handle the latest 3D technology being used in Hollywood today.
Boasts higher tickets costs?? Oh yay for that. $10+ each to see some mediocre movie isn’t enough from us, eh?
3D is ok for going to Disneyland but I would not want to see a 2 hour movie in 3D — unless it was something my kids wanted to see.
