New Chef for Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jiko Announced

The new chef for Jiko – The Cooking Place, the featured restaurant at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, has been announced. Chef Brian Piasecki has previously been head chef at another top Disney World restaurant, Le Cellier at Epcot. But Piasecki has never been to South Africa, the country upon which Jiko’s cuisine is based.

Orlando Sentinel Food Critic Scott Joseph says he’s willing to over look that fact for now. Don’t look for a lot of changes to the menu until Piasecki finds some time to actually travel to South Africa and soak in some of the culture and food. That’s sounds like another 6-10 months or so.

While you’re in the mood for food, be sure to read Joseph’s tour through this year’s Epcot Food & Wine Festival.

  1. i’ve worked under chef brian before, and his cooking is inspired, flavourful, and diverse. i know that he’ll take all of these traits with him to jiko.

  2. Animal Kingdom Lodge’s Jiko Restaurant Gets New Chef

Arguably one of the best restaurants in EPCOT, Le Cellier is very popular for their outstanding steaks and probably the best Cheese Soup you

  3. I’ve worked with Chef Piasecki, while I worked in The Canadian Pavillion(Le Cellier)… He was a perfectionist and culinary genius… Jiko has hit a Gold Mine with this new addition to there location. Le Cellier will never be the same :) Best of Luck *Frenchie
