Disneyland Alum, Eden Espinosa, Returning to LA in Wicked!

Disneyland stage show alum Eden Espinosa has been announced for the role of Elphaba in the Los Angeles Production of Wicked. Espinosa will team with Megan Hilty (Glinda) once performances begin in February of 2007.

Providing a little taste of what you can expect, blogger Neta-Lee was at the announcement and recorded a video of Espinosa and Hilty doing a sound check. Check out composer Stephen Schwartz on the keyboards too.

I haven’t been able to find any recordings of Eden while at Disneyland. I know I have them somewhere. But I did find a few photos of her in three of her Disney stage roles. At the top is her as Pocahontas; in the middle is her as a lead singer in Animazement; and at the bottom is her first Disneyland role as support vocalist in the Hunchback of Notre Dame: Festival of Fools. They’re all scanned from photos, so pardon some of the fuzzy quality.

Congrats to Eden and, um, break a leg in your big return to Los Angeles.

  1. i came across and saw it was in 2006 and i was wondering if you found any audios or clips of eden, as i loved her as pocahontas and when she sang colours of the wind and just around the riverbend she blew me away!
    please let me know
    thank you!
I’m glad Eden didnt literally break a leg but she was amazing as Elphaba in Wicked, it made me cry seeing how sweet and young she was as pocahontas!
