The shake-up at Disney Studios goes all the way to the top. Walt Disney Motion Pictures Group President Nina Jacobson is out and Oren Aviv has been promoted to take her place. Aviv comes from the Studio Marketing Group, so that seems to be one strike against him. However, when you consider that blockbusters appear to ride on the success of their marketing these days, perhaps it’s not such a weird decision.
Jacobson, who was considered the most powerful woman in Hollywood, was on the chopping block due to her spotty record of hits and misses and the studios failure to turn a reasonable profit for the last few years.
I’m very sad about this new. I really can’t believe. She is one of the most powerfull and smart producers in Hollywood.
Look at her filmography!!! I’m really disappointed. She had some flops, but she had an enormous number of hits, included Pirates. What are they doing at Disney in these days? Mah. Do you know the reason of this terrible decision?And now what will she do?
