TPI: Best of Awards

Theme Park Insider has announced their reader’s choice awards for the previous year. The parks with the largest visitor numbers would have a natural advantage in reader’s choice polls, and this years winners shows no exceptions to that rule. However, The choice of Disneyland Resort’s Grand Californian Hotel as the best hotel seems to neglect some of its shortfalls (price, restaurant choice (price and quality), location (yes it has its own entrance to a themepark, but it also has some 25% of the rooms that overlook a busy shopping mall), the lack of nearby golfing, and the lack of a full day spa. For all these things you are left with only WDW Deluxe Hotels (including Animal Kingdom Lodge, which still wins hands down in my book).

The weakest choice would seem to be the Mythos restaurant at Islands of Adventure for best restaurant inside a theme park. How can you pass over the many excellent restaurants at EPCOT (although these might suffer from the multitude of choices causing votes to cancel each other out) or The Vineyard Room (a pris fix meal that rates 4 out of 4 from the readers of LaughingPlace.com).
