Winnie the Pooh set to Rap

Winnie-The-Pooh-Dance

Believe it or not, the beloved bear Winnie the Pooh recently celebrated his 95th birthday. Disney started its franchise in 1966 and there have been many takes on the ‘stuffed with fluff’ bear since then, but perhaps none as funky as a rap song.

From Disney’s slightly irreverent blog and YouTube channel “Oh My Disney” comes a unique take on Winnie the Pooh and the 100 Acre Wood. It’s a Winnie the Pooh rap. There are clever jokes and a catchy chorus. Give it a listen here:

The song was produced and performed by Nyiko Beguin. He’s a musician and DJ who also happens to work for On My Disney. New episodes in the “Disney Raps” series will drop every other week. I wonder which movie they plan to release next?

My favorite pop take on Winnie is “House on Pooh Corner” by Kenny Loggins. The Indigo Girls do a great cover of it, and so does YouTuber Ashley Lilinoe:

Which is your favorite Winnie the Pooh song?
