I was never able to attend the now permanently closed River Country water park at Walt Disney World. Someone has however posted a series of photos showing the current state of affairs on the swimming hole. Here’s a link to Walt Dated World’s entry on… Read More »A River Country Post Mortem

Playboy Bunnies at The World

This is too good of a story to pass up. The founder of the Playboy empire, Hugh Heffner, paid a visit to Walt Disney World as part of his pre-superbowl fun. "I think he [Walt] would have every reason to be proud," Hefner said. "I think he’s had a very positive impact on the world.… Read More »Playboy Bunnies at The World

So talking with a travel expert, visiting an online Disney fan site, or DisneyWorld.com becomes more important. It is possible that someone won’t understand the system fully and be suprised by the extra charges for park hopping, non-expiration date, etc. I’m sure Disney is counting on a little of this to pad their profit margin.

Contract Approved

The vote for the new contract at Walt Disney World was yesterday. The slightly revised version was approved. This means there will be no strike and that employees dreaming of picking up extra shifts are out of luck. It also means higher health care costs, less overtime, and hopefully a steadier schedule for the resorts… Read More »Contract Approved

Countdown to strike?

What happens when both sides of a contract negotiation take the hard line and refuse to budge. Usually it means a strike. Disney has made the unions a slightly modified contract offer and a vote is expected this Thursday. Since Disney has refused to extend the contract beyond Thursday a no vote from the union… Read More »Countdown to strike?
