While I was on board the Disney Fantasy, I saw a terrific 3D trailer for The Avengers. Afterward, I was the most excited I’ve ever been to see the movie. The 3D was fantastic, the villains actually seem capable of putting our heroes in peril and the heroes still manage to look and act cool. Everything I want in a superhero movie.
That said, a few of you may need some additional convincing.
To help with that Marvel has released a new featurette that includes interviews director Joss Whedon and some of the film’s producers.
“What we’re doing here is completely unprecedented,” Whedon says. “Marvel is taking the characters that they’re putting in their movies and bringing them all together in a team franchise movie experience, which really has never been done before.”
That trailer, if you haven’t seen it, is below the cut:
Marvel has released a new clip that shows a few, very brief, and I mean very, moments of its next big film – The Avengers. The clip also contains the last few seconds of Captain America: The First Avenger, which could be considered a spoiler, so I’m putting it below the jump.
Disney and Marvel Studios released the first shot from the set as principal photography began. Why I may have hemmed and hawed over Thor being a Disney film or not, this is truly the first Marvel Studios film where Disney has been involved since almost the beginning. So I’ll be keeping an eye on it.
I’m not sure if four director chairs is supposed to excite me. But that logo in the background looks like it might have some significance. I am however, looking forward to Joss Whedon’s screenplay and direction. This comic/superhero genre is his forte.
