Lost Season 6: Recon (Episode 8)

All Sawyer! All the time! “Recon”, this week’s Lost episode should have been my favorite! We got to see Sawyer in LA. And find out that he is NOT a conman! Of course, we also see him get busy with two different girls, eat frozen dinners and a 6pack of beer by himself and have his police partner walk out on him. I’m torn. I loved seeing Sawyer’s life but man…did he need Juliet or what?!

This whole episode was just a little…slow for me. It felt like we took one tiny small step forward. I don’t know what was really accomplished and I don’t really know what questions to ask. Maybe I’ll feel better as we talk about the episode. Ready?

Lost Season 6: Dr. Linus (Episode 7)

**spoilers begin immediately**

Oh, Losties!! Do you feel like the season has finally started?! The last scene with all the castaways reuniting on the beach, their beach, OUR BEACH was just a sigh of relief. I have felt very displaced during the last few episodes as the Losties casually pass each other in the jungle as if it were a High School hallway. Seeing a huge group of people talk (and one look quietly on) was just so Lost and it felt nice. It felt very Season 1.

On the other hand, I felt….weird when this episode was done. I think it’s because this episode was all about Ben. If you’ve been following my recaps for awhile you know I have refused to like Ben. The man is a poisonous liar and quite possibly the creepiest man in the world. But in this episode, I wanted to ::whisper:: hug him.

Let’s get to the recap so we can talk more coherently, ok?

Lost Season 6: Sundown (Episode 6)

Well, well. We just might be in the final season of Lost. “Sundown” was episode 6 so we’re not quite halfway through the season. But, it felt like a million and a half things happened last night. The story line actually went somewhere on The Island. Of course, we didn’t really get any answers about WHY or WHEREFORE. But nonetheless, I’m feeling like we’re getting to the end.

Of course, my revelation from last week—that our flash-sideways are going to redeem our Losties was completely false. If this week was redemption for Sayid or Jin, well, I feel sorry for them.

There’s so much story line to talk about, I’ll try to keep it brief (*snort*). Here goes…

Lost Season 6: The Lighthouse (Episode 5)

So, I’m having a LOST revelation. More like a coming-to-terms. I had hoped our flash-sideways were untrue. I was hoping for love and contentment and redemption ON The Island. I see that is not going to happen. I think The Island is broken. It’s puppet masters may be everlasting but they certainly are not omnipotent. The interesting connections between characters we had in previous seasons’ flashbacks always made us feel that “destiny” was at work. That they were all “meant” to be on The Island. But what if we’ve got it backwards? What if this “GOOD” LA flash-sideways is the REAL way it was supposed to be? And what if Jacob and his Nemesis messed it up? So, everything we’ve loved about The Island connections and character development were really just the working out of “destiny” trying to fix what Jacob, et al did with their pettiness? Maybe the good I saw on The Island (which therefore made me NOT want them to get off The Island) was really just a glimpse of the GOOD that was SUPPOSED to be? Did that make sense? Probably not. The point is, I’m trying to like the flash-sideways. I’m trying to see that GOOD has happened to our beloved characters OUTSIDE of The Island and the horribleness of their pre-Island lives was really BECAUSE OF The Island. Is that crazy talk? I know, I know, let’s just get to the recap, right?

Lost 5.16 & 17: The Incident

***beware spoilers begin IMMEDIATELY***

Oh, Losties. My heart is broken. Eight months until season 6? A WHITE Screen O’Lost? A dead John Locke? A despondant Sawyer? A sacrificial Juliet? Miles yelling, “Dad!” It’s too much to bear!

I can already feel my wordiness bubbling up. So grab some oreos and sit tight. We’ve got lots to talk about…

Lost 5.15: Follow The Leader

I’m a day late on my recap. I know you’ve been anxiously waiting by the computer for it. Let’s just blame it on computer error and frugal living (aka we don’t have cable right now). But big thank yous to our illustrious Disney Blog editor, John Frost who is letting me post and gush a little tardy.  I’ve been writing the post in my head all day because it was such a delicious episode! It was an obvious lead up to the finale because every single character was in it! This is my FAVE. I love when we see everyone. (OK, no Desmond. But basically EVERYONE.)

There were no flashbacks or forwards…it was just present day. Well, present day 1977 and present day 2007. Only in LOST can you have two present days!

Lost 5.14: The Variable

It’s finally happened. Lost has forayed so far into time-travel and sci-fi that I can’t keep up. If you are finding my recap here at The Disney Blog for the first time, I promise I am not really a moron. I swear I’m really a Lostie. But for the life of me, I will not be able to give a good theory or a well-thought out conjecture on what is happening on The Island. If you need some geeky-goodness check out Popular Mechanics post or Doc Jensen’s recap. If you’re just wanting to gush, roll your eyes or use lots of exclamation points, then you’ve come to the right place.

Now.

Let’s begin with our George McFly-wannabe, Daniel Faraday…

Lost 5.12: Dead is Dead

Can I just say that Benjamin Linus is the creepiest, scariest, most conniving enigma of a character that has ever been on television? I do not think I believed one word that dripped from his lips last night. In fact, it might just be my sleep-deprived state, but I don’t even know if I trusted his flashbacks!

You know I don’t like spoilers. I don’t even watch previews. So, I was surprised that this was such a heavy Lost-mythology and Other-history episode. But even with a Ben-flashback, the reappearance of Charles Widmore, Smokey, the Temple, John Locke’s new omniciense, I still feel like I don’t know a thing! I’m lost and lovin’ it!

So, let’s get to it. I’m just not really sure where to start…how about with Ben’s flashbacks?
